Baron Thenard Le Montrachet 2015

Domaine Baron Thénard is a magical place to visit. From the outside, the cellar looks like an old barn; the roof is near the ground and when you open the door, you immediately descend the slippery stone steps into the cellar. Bought in 1872, the vineyard is 250-270 metres above sea level and extends over 10% of the slope with a south, south-easterly aspect.

This wine has rich, luxuriant aromas of honeysuckle and ample wood spice followed by forward yet elegant flavors that are impressively concentrated. It is a nicely complex, powerful, and elegant wine: lovely and round, with a silky but intense palate impression, this is truly a great wine and one of the greatest white wines in the world.
